Happy Bhogi

Pongal is a tamil festival celebrated on the 14th of January. It marks the begining of the new Tamil month called 'Thai'.
Its also the start of harvesting season. The festival is celebrated over three consecutive days after today [Bhogi Festival].

Today farmers pay homage for the God of clouds and rains [Lord Indra] who brought prosperity to land.
And also today all the useless household articles, agricultural waste is put on the fire symbolizing the discard of the old and welcome of the new.
