Around about @GSofA

A bit contrived but since this a diary and I want to look back and chart events and happenings, I thought it was worth doing a quick Glasgow School of Art (GSA) Degree Show montage.
After all, a few weeks ago, everyone was wondering if it would happen at all following on from the fire which ravaged the beautiful Mack building in Garnethill.
I wrote about the degree show in yesterday's Herald Arts supplement. As ever, you miss out as much as you put in.
This picture shows the review (featuring the photogenic and upbeat Alex Jensen, who lost much of his art work and his flat in the space of two weeks), the showcase limited edition book produced by GSA to mark the fine art degree show and the card send out by the art school informing people what was happening. It shows GSA graduate, Kenny Hunter's Citizen Firefighter sculpture outside the Central Hotel in Glasgow.
In the immediate aftermath of the fire, someone hung a Thank You card around its neck. The font was pure Mackintosh. It said it all.
