North British Hotel

I have a tendancy to read through the old newsgroups. Mainly ed.general etc.

Last night photos from Doveson2008 were posted of Edinburgh in the 1950's. I really like to see the "Old" Edinburgh photos and try and compare it in my head as it now looks (generally its usually with a shed load more cars on the road).
One photo that really caught my eye was the North British Hotel(Now the Balmoral Hotel) and how that has changed in the last 60 odd years. Its amazing to see how dark the stonework was back in them old days!
