The final reckoning

I have had the pleasure of attending The Evostik League annual dinner this evening.

Our club chairman decided it would be nice to offer the opportunity to the club's volunteers as a gesture of his thanks.

None of us do our roles for reward, other than the love of the game so to be recognised like this is very special.

We were rewarded with excellent company, good food and wine, and we acknowledged the achievements of clubs in the league.

We had had much to celebrate at AFC Fylde this season.
The trophy haul now stands at 5.
We already knew about, and have been presented with:
Doodson Cup (the league cup)
President's cup (fair play award)
Play off winner's trophy
Lancashire County cup

Tonight our manager also won Manager of the Year.

I've called the blip "The final reckoning" but that's not quite true.
We are still waiting for the result of Groundsman of the year.
