Grobust in the sunshine

A fabulous day. Same beach as yesterday. Bu this time hot and sunny! Add in an empty beach, my favourite person, happy kids and seals surfing in the breakers and it doesn't get much better.

Steven managed to get his feet badly sunburnt, not many folk do that in Westray.

The boys spent most of the day in a huge shallow pool. The water was warm and they had lots of muddy sand to guddle in.

And yes, we did brave the sea. It was warm for Orkney waters, which means bloody cold by anywhere elses standards. But believe me, few things make you feel as alive as facing water straight from the arctic as it smacks you so hard in the chest that you struggle to stay upright.

BTW If you happen to find yourself at Grobust, watch out for the undertow, it can be treacherous.
