This shows how a quarry can revert to temperate jungle after a short period of about 15 years. These sheltered, damp areas can develop into a fantastic natural haven, but it makes it damned hard to examine the underlying geology.
Vesicular basalt with infilled cooling joints. Permian Exeter volcanic group. Agate and calcite in vesicles.
