The other office

I find writing for work difficult sometimes. It can be a struggle to get into the right state of mind to write, say, twenty sides of documentation that are, in effect, creative writing.

Sometimes I can do it from the office, sometimes it's better from home. Sometimes I want some music or a bit of background noise and sometimes I don't want to hear anything other than my fingers rattling on the keyboard. I wish there was just one set of circumstances that I knew were conducive to writing!

I do have a fair amount of success working from The Royal, though. There's no guarantee that it will work but most times if I spend the day there, I'll finish what I set out to do, even if it's a bit painful sometimes. And today wasn't *too* bad.

Of course, you can't just go and sit in someone else's premises but I pay my 'rent' in coffee, breakfast and, in the photo above, lunch.
