DAY LILY

I like the mellow color and ‘burst of light’ center of this Day Lily. This shot was late in the afternoon when the shadows were long, but this blossom was leaning into some sunshine breaking through the trees. These easy-to-care-for plants flourish along country roads and ditches, and yet they are also found in well-tended gardens. They come in a variety of colors, but I think this peachy-orange is the most common.
