Grandma Margaret's Ancient Instant Coffee -

Many years ago, before Terri moved in and began making great coffee here, my late mother had to settle for instant when she visited. A few years ago I found half a jar of it when cleaning out cupboards, and tossed it under the back porch thinking it would make a great project for the children someday.

We’ve used it a few times this spring - once pretending to make jelly with it. Last week it was used for painting our big boxes, then the water in the tub was used to “wash” the boxes. At that point Terri came out and asked E. what they were doing – he replied “we’re washing the boxes, because ...” and then turned to L. to ask “why are we washing the boxes?” To which L. confidently replied “because they’re dirty.”

I’m guessing that we’ll find lots more ways to have fun with Grandma Margaret’s Ancient Instant Coffee this summer!
