The Race Around the Temples

Kyoto, famous for its stunning temples, beautiful crafts and calm and tranquil traditional way of life....

Bikes! We hired bikes and we didn’t even have to wear helmets (I wish they had hired out capes – that would have been perfect -Bike boy and cycle girl – we would have saved the world one bell ring at a time). It was like a two wheeled version of the Fast and the Furious except at times we lacked speed and we weren’t really angry... but we were very enthusiastic...It was probably more like the Fast-ish and the Happy – there was a lot of laughter!! We rode through the city maze, navigating across town and negotiating the ever popular ‘up hills’ but we did not complain for we knew downhill was soon thereafter – all the way - without stopping!!

Kyoto...the tour de france has nothing on you!
