The open window

This evening I had a meeting which, unusually was in a restaurant. This is a once a year happening to partly thank us for our time and efforts volunteering with a local charity, but also to share our successes with my fellow Group organisers. There are 7 of us altogether so the evening was spent listening to and discussing each of the presentations around the 2 courses brought to us.

By 9.30pm one of the staff informed us that he would have to close the doors and windows, despite the heat, as, because they were beside the river, we would soon be plagued by gnats if he didn't!! Being the table closest to the window we were keen for him to get in with the job.
