Radar Room

Visited the new visitor centre at Sumburgh Head today which concentrates on the history of the Lighthouse and also the natural history of the area. Highly recommended.

Here we have the radar room set out at the time of a German raid on the British naval fleet at Scapa Flow. Was particularly interested to see that the radar was moved round and round by the bicycle type chain and handlebars in the middle.
