Shelter from the Storm

It does not rain much in southern California but on that rare occasion one seeks shelter where it is available.

As innocent as this may appear, an inquiry led me to discover that this particular individual, for lack of more "suitable" accommodation, has been residing within the trunk of this giant Eucalyptus tree for the past few months. So is the plight of the homeless.

Perhaps John Muir and the Sierra Club would see the irony in this. It seems that San Diego County now has it's own answer to "Shelters for the Homeless".

When I asked if I might take a photograph, he smiled and said "So this is my Kodak Moment". I guess that just about says it all.
