solitude

My title for the "100 days of summer" today was "100 days of solitude". This is my boy taking solitude on the beach near to where we are staying. We went swimming this morning and he loved that, a lot. But since then he's been very upset, and very up and down and unsettled. It's so hard seeing him like this, I'm hoping it's because he is tired, or because he's out of his usual routine. It just hurts.
