The Road To Gemiler Beach

We have a hire car until late tomorrow afternoon. Saturday we went along the cliff top road for many miles until it became an off road track. Today we went the opposite way, along the road to Gemiler Beach.

It's a very pretty run from Olu Deniz, past lots of forestry and a deserted village, which is probably as well populated now as in it's heyday, from locals making a living selling everything to everyone that visits.

Just before you get to the end of the road and hit Gemiler Beach, there is a pull in with lovely views of the bay. The beach you can see in the photo is the one we spent several hours at, lazing on padded loungers. They're free - as long as you buy a drink or meal. We did both. The salad was superb and the home made chips reminded me of the ones my grandparents made.

It was so relaxing that the wife wants to go back tomorrow. She says I must be relaxed as the bags under my eyes have gone! They probably weren't helped by staying up until 3am to watch England get beat by Italy on Monday. (Turkey are presently 2 hours ahead of the UK).

So it looks like it will be another journey tomorrow along The Road To Gemiler.
