26. Cam chaos

This photo from yesterday was trumped by Father’s Day festivities, but I decided it deserved a post. It was ‘Suicide Sunday’ where the students party in a big way to celebrate the end of studies. One tradition is a homemade boat race along the Cam. I wasn’t aware of this tradition and was a little surprised when I saw people walking by our restaurant window carrying taped cardboard creations on their heads. It was fun to guess which would sink and which would make it to the end of the race. Also entertaining was the roaming punt boat finish line which moved throughout the race, helping out those who were struggling by punting towards them. It was refreshingly laid back. |||
