Fashion or frump?

For the first time I felt my age. My daughter was so excited about getting these shoes and I thought they were - politely put- not my cup of tea!

She looks great in them though.

I remember my mum saying the same thing to me when I wore Laura Ashley dresses at the age of 17- with DMs of course!

Why is it that at certain ages you can pull of certain things- or not...

So are they fashionable or frumpy?
