Cheats never prosper...

A sentiment with which I wholly agree... except for tonight.

The good doctor is coming round for tea and so in my harrassed state have opted for Delia Smith's book; not one that was received that well by the masses but which I quite like. She may be a bit of a strange one, but all her recipes turn out reliably well. Also, what she calls cheating is often a bit of a full-on effort for me.

I love cooking for people - there's nothing more therapeutic and distracting than puggling away in the kitchen, creating. Must admit that it's better if I cook alone as the ensuing mess is horrendous and draws gasps of horror from onlookers.
