Mole Hall
When I'd visited Chippenham two days earlier, I had had a quick look at an auction property called Mole Hall in St Mary Street. This is the road behind St Mary's church, including the Woodhouse which I blipped quite recently. In this picture taken from the churchyard the lady on the pavement is about to walk past the Woodhouse.
Mole Hall is reached via a narrow footpath which cuts off the corner of St Mary Street and Common Slip, which leads off towards the River Avon. On my first visit a bell practice was going on at the church whilst amplification from a fairground tent in nearby Monkton Park thumped against the stone walls of Mole Hall, and so it wasn't an auspicious introduction to the property.
On this second visit, filling in time before an appointment, there were no bells or fairground noises and it seemed entirely quiet and peaceful, and although there were some concerns, I was sufficiently interested to arrange an internal viewing which will take place on June 18th - I'll keep you posted.

Marie Knight - Come Tomorrow (1962)
Marie Knight was a gospel and R&B singer who was discovered by the great Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Though I knew Marie knight's work I only knew of this song because of Manfred Mann's version of some three years later until just the other day when this popped on the radio.
