People make a place?

According to Glasgow they do. Just leaving via the airport and this display of the games logo took my eye and made me think.

What does make a place special? Is it the fact a loved one is there waiting? Is it architecture or public realm? Is it the vibrancy created by business, leisure or retail.

In reality it can be anything but a truly great place is made by a combination of things - you usually require some of all. Even then something special is a truly individualistic thing I find.

For me Glasgow is a special place - and that reason is love.
