Tread
There are so many different ways we can relate to bicycles. Today, it's tire tread.
Tread is important. Whether it's on your car tires, your shoes, or your bike, tread will keep you on track and headed in the right direction. There are different types of tread for many different kinds of situations. There are tires that are completely smooth as to cut down on friction and make riding on compact surfaces more efficient. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are tires with large knobs protruding out from the center like the Fry-guys from the old McDonalds commercials. These tires are for riding in wet, or loose conditions.
I think of tread as support. With more support, rough conditions can be conquered.
People need tread. I need tread everyday. We all need different types of tread for different situations. Right now I'm using knobby tread, both, on my bike and in my life. I feel I can push harder and dig into the earth knowing I'll stay grounded.
