Blue Iris
The irises look quite fragile this year and are not lasting long in flower. So I have blipped this specimen and applied poster treatment which I think suits its intricately patterned petals. Shot from below against the blue sky and clouds it gives a feeling of height which, of course, these flowers have in spades. Today was supposed to be the warmest spot in the UK but it clouded over till about 5 o'clock and now it is a warm evening. Not as spontaneous a shot as yesterday's buttercups that I encountered on a walk which hit the spotlight!
