What a day!

First, around midnight our football fans woke us up because the cows were making a lot of noise. The reason was a runaway calf outside the cows' fence. We chased her back to the calf fence, fixed the fence and went back to bed.

It was a beautiful morning when we got up, but soon the first clouds came, with some hail! Then sunshine again, and another wave of clouds. During the hail showers the temperature went down to +2°C! The photo is taken while the second hail shower pounding on the Burnet Roses outside the window when we had morning coffee.

I managed to get one load of silage in the trailer before the third hail shower. In the afternoon the sun took over, but the temperature stayed under +10°C. One good thing though: the strong wind dried the grass and the rest of the day silage drier than usually on the next day after rain. The hail probably never made as wet as rain would have anyway.
