Harringworth Viaduct
Today has been a very sad day, we have been to a dear friends funeral. She was only taken ill in December last year. Some time last year I blipped a cushion she made us for our Anniversary, she had spun and weaved the yarn she made it with.
We passed Harringworth Viaduct on the way to her Sons house where we had refreshments after the funeral. The Viaduct has 82 arches, each of which has a 40ft span, it is 1275 yards long. It was built between 1877 and 1899 by the Midland Railway and 20 million bricks were used. It is one of the longest masonry Viaduct in the United Kingdom.
