It Begins

Severe storms roared through southern Ontario late this afternoon prompting tornado watches and warnings.
The line of strong to severe thunderstorms fired up in the mid afternoon, impacting the evening commute in several places. A lot of rain was dumped over a short period of time along with strong, damaging winds that tore the roofs off of houses in Angus and spurred about 30,000 power outages across the region.

The storms impacted a wide area with communities experiencing varying degrees of severity. We had just got home from a visit to Guelph which had a visit from a tornado shortly after we left. The storm came through Milton quickly. Strong winds and heavy rain fell in almost complete darkness, then 30 minutes later all was clear. All we got was a little bit wet.
