Lures.
Thanks for all yesterday's comments. The shot was not really as obscure as it may have seemed. I had been doing some clearing out and came across some stuff that I thought would be good for practicing lensbaby shots. For those of you who didn't work it out, the blip was a macro of this.
Despite appearances, (we inherited the fishing tackle from a friend), we haven't done a lot of fly fishing. Spent a few nights one summer trying to learn the technique, but though tit was bizarre that you wold try and tempt a fish to a fly when they were fed on pellets! Anyway, we never caught anything - except the daughter's ear!
That brings me on to today's blip. While I was tidying, I also came across some lures. Each one has several triple barbed hooks attached and getting in close enough to do a macro can be a piercing experience. However, they are really colourful and there are chubby ones, skinny ones, bright ones and even ones for salmon fishing. I have no idea what I'll do with them all - other than photograph them - so if anybody needs some lures, do get in touch.
Other news: today is the start of the Celtic Connections music festival in Glasgow. The daughter has been feeling a bit rough over the last couple of days, but when she heard that Bobby McFerrin was taking a master class next week, she fairly brightened up. We've got tickets to see him in the evening, but I'd love to be in on that action too!
