Cake and a catch up

I slept really badly last night and woke up tired, grumpy and achey all over. The poor children could do no right as I stamped my way through our morning routines. I have made us a Victoria sponge with strawberries and jam and cream for tea to make it up to them.

Right, a few things to catch up on from the last couple of days.....

The rhubarb vodka is looking beautiful, it needs to sit for three weeks in total but was looking so lovely I had just a tiny taste. Turns out it already tastes amazing but I will hold off for a couple more weeks then I can make rhubarb sours. really, I strongly recommend you make this (if you like rhubarb).

And the Monday evening tennis. It was really very good - there were ten of us, I have leant lots of things that I do wrongly (well, most things actually) but I wasn't quite the worst there and it was all very good natured. Turns out I am unable to think about how I am meant to be doing things and hit the ball all in the same movement. But I was quite quick to find the person who swears and laughs at themselves as much as me and we had a good laugh.

And this afternoon I fulfilled my first responsibilities as a school governor. And have changed my mind yet again about where Will might go to school in a years time.
