The Swan

What a view. Just back from Rotterdam, where my hotel room had this wonderful view of the Erasmusbrug - Erasmus Bridge - also fondly known as 'The Swan'. It is 800 metres long and towers 139 metres high over the city centre. When it first opened in 1996, it suffered from a slight wobble in high winds, so they had to install stronger shock dampers in the structure.

After a rather boring test route yesterday, today's drive was much better, on lovely country roads snaking between waterways, in scenery dotted with windmills, thatched buildings and espaliered trees. We even had a short ferry crossing. Home to a sunny evening in Kent. A good day.
