Mazamet

We're living in the Villa De Mazamet in the town of Mazamet, S>W> France for a few days holiday.

The town was well known for its wool industry at the beginning of the 20th C, hence the wool related sculpture outside of the tourist information centre.

On a walk along the path of an old railway we came across what must be one of its current major industries. Jim was enthralled by goings on at this log cutting works where the logs were cut and made into planks of wood. What really impressed him was that all the residue, bark, off-cuts etc. was eventually reduced to sawdust which was then loaded into big containers and taken away to be made into some sort of board ??. Nothing was left at the end of the process.

The third blip is of the ornaments in the room which depict the atmosphere of the Villa with its chambres d'hôtes and fine dining.
