Going round in cirlces!
That is what we did yesterday. The area around Mazamet, particularly on le Montagne Noir, is popular with walkers. Yesterday we obtained some maps from Tourist information and set of on a 15.5 km walk to Le lac de Montagne. After walking for 5 miles (8-9km) we had only reached point 4 on the map - about 1/4 of the way. Given what we still had to walk, we took one of the shortcuts, and got lost again. Luckily I had gps on my phone and was able to bring up the map of where we were and from that we managed to find our way back to Mazamet. At the end we had walked over 20km.
So today we headed off to Gorges d'Heric which was a walk along the floor of a lovely gorge. It was straight in and out with a café at the end so it wasn't possible to get lost. It was a very popular place for families as a lot of work had been done on the environment to make easy access to the water for families for swimming and paddling. The blip is of a tree that had been damaged by fire.
