Nut Extraction

Usually the jays grab the peanuts and go. They stuff one into their gullet and then grab a second one in their beak and then take to the air. Not this guy. He (or she) decided to stop a moment to crack open the peanut shell and eat the nut inside, even though I was sitting right there aiming my camera at him. Quite a bold move I think. And delicious too.

Another busy day today. Up way too early - 5:15 am - and off on a mission of support. Didn't get home until 11 am. I think I'll take a nap in awhile and regain some of my lost sleep. It's an overcast day today. Everybody in the house is feeling a bit dozy. One of those days...
