Inevitably, no matter how good their intentions, it was always tempting fate for the Radio Times to produce a Roy Of The Rovers inspired cover in which England triumph over Italy thanks to a magnificent Steven Gerrard wondergoal. Maybe if they'd produced a cover depicting Pirlo and De Rossi controlling the entire tempo and flow of the game with the highest pass completion rate in World Cup history, Candreva running the England defence ragged and Balotelli nodding home a back post header with embarrassing ease, then the match would actually have finished a 6-0 rout in England's favour. But somehow, I doubt it.
