What do you photograph when the light is poor?
A dull start to the day, a beautiful afternoon and an early evening meal with friends who live quite close to Stanage Edge, where this photo was taken. The meal and visit was a bit impromptu, so a big thanks to Jan & Mike for inviting us to eat with them (we did manage to contribute some very large and delicious prawns to the meal). So a really good way to spend the afternoon - they've also got a very large garden on the edge of the moor, which is wonderful to explore.
The evening was scheduled as a camera club outing on Stanage Edge. I'm not quite sure what happened to the rest of the camera club but we only found two more of them (even after driving all along the edge and stopping in every car-park to see if i recognised any cars!) I think the organisation might have been a little too vague for most people - or maybe they were out there somewhere else - there's several miles of this edge. It's a long, long time since I was last here - we used to come rock climbing with my dad when we were young, so it was good to see it again. Unfortunately by the time we found the others the light had gone really flat - so what else do you photograph when the light has gone?
