Jump …
Beautiful sunny morning and first order of the day, a swim! The pool, reasonably warm, 24 degrees approximately, and with an amazing outlook over the hills, grapes and olives! Perfect for the kids, as you’d imagine.
The ladies were then off to a cooking class, an all-day affair apparently, so the boys were left at home with the kids. Photos and blogs done, we set off for town. Lunch first at an outdoor café, pizza and wine … then the kids and I headed for the torture museum, while Phil and Andrew explore the village, in a more cultured manner!
For some reason unknown, the kids were keen to visit the torture museum, which we discovered was in two parts. The first was torture, without death. The second was torture, leading to death. Nice …
We started with the lessor of two evils, no death, and even that was sobering … the rack, stretching your body 30cm, dislocating and breaking most bones in the process …. And so on, the skull crusher and so many other nasty devices.
Then onto the serious side, death buy torture. Yep, as expected, rather gruesome. Promoting discussions as how could humans be so cruel etc. Good discussion to have, and I think now these two are unlikely to commission torture on any person. Flaying, burning feet, feeding to the lions; all very nasty stuff.
Then back to reality, and gelato, and home to the pool. A fabulous evening to swim, have a glass of wine, read, and enjoy the Tuscan views.
