Looks like hard work!
This poster was in the market square in Nyons.
Not sure what it was that attracted me to it!!! But thought some of you might like it too! ( see large) Also see map.
Early evening yesterday we had heavy rain, and could hear the rumble of thunder up in the hills.
However when we woke this morning, to clear blue skies, the air felt much fresher, and a pleasant 26c when we set off for Nyons market.
Although we got there at about 10am many people were already leaving, laden down with goodies.
As we still have a fridge full of fruit and veg, we only bought another kilo of cherries (2.50 euros) a kilo of apricots, ( 3 euros) some tomatoes, onions and garlic.
There were the usual sights and smells. The cheese and sausage men handing out tasty bits for you to try. The lavender sellers, the spices and herbs, ( some I have never heard of) The strongest smell is the hand made soap stalls.
By now the temperature was 31c, and so we made our way to the riverside and a stop for coffee and watch the world go by!
We decided to drive up through the valley to Remuzat and a café we went to last year where again we had one of their fabulous pizzas, and where we could see the vultures soaring high above the cliffs as we ate our lunch.
See here for details from last year's blip.
By this time it was very hot, and so after a walk round the village, we decided to make it straight back and I had a swim to cool off.
MrC now watching the England match! Doesn't seem too happy!
