The new one on the block

Karen has been hosting a pair of Oystercatchers on her roof over the last few weeks. From building a nest to laying, the male feeding the female and seeing off predators whilst she incubated.

And tonight I managed my first photo of the new sibling, though late into the evening, with failing light.

I hope to get a better picture of Mum and youngster together, as time goes back before it fly’s off.

Thanks to Karen this evening to point out that it was running up and down the roof.
