Meadow Brown Butterfly
Walked up the cycle path to do a quick butterfly count and see what else was about. We’d seen a probable ringlet in the garden which hadn’t settled. Although very sunny and warm the sea breeze was picking up and coming straight up the valley. Some chiff-chaffs were calling and a cetti’s warbler all hidden in the foliage. Some reed buntings were also singing one perched atop a branch. Just a few butterflies were about most kept on the wing but this lovely fresh male meadow brown did oblige us and sun itself for a little while.
