EARLY MORNING:

I was up early this morning, it was beautiful, the sky so clear & very blue with not a smudge to spoil the scene. A frosty morning & as I walked down to the bottom of the garden, the lawn made that tell tale, scrunching sound. Notice how little snow there is on the mountains. We have had unusual weather so far. One year ago yesterday, we had an extraordinary storm sweep up the centre of the South Island, dumping a huge amount of snow in the back country areas. I remember because our farm lost a lot of sheep. We can expect more snow on the mountains any day, but not round the lake.
