No visit to the Southern Highlands would be complete without visiting this book store. This antiquarian book store was founded by Solomon Berkelouw in 1812 in Rotterdam Holland. Over the years six generations of the family are and were employed in the business. In 1948 Isidor Berkolouw packed up the books and established himself in King St Sydney and finally moving to Berrima. When we first walked in the antiquarian section it was literally breath taking as old books have an aroma and patina all of their own.
