Te roa te po o te tau
The longest night of the year tonight and Te roa te po o te tau is the Maori name for it and all around New Zealand there are celebrations.
We celebrated in Lyttleton at the Festival of Lights - a nightmare traffic wise, in car and on foot, but definitely worth it to join in the festivities, watch some great fireworks, eat good street food, and drink Mulled Wine - Mmmm!
Still getting used to this whole Southern Hemisphere thing though! :)
