Wild West

I went on a date to an ice cream shop in Old Town Scottsdale. What a weird place. Old Town is extremely kitsch and doesn't fit in with anyplace in the West I've been. It's extremely touristy -- places sell what appear to be fake Native American jewelry, gaudy knickknacks, goofy western clothes, and even cigar store Indians.

Old Town feels like what a Midwestern town would do if it was trying to pretend it was the West.
