Wastwater Screes

We decided to take advantage of the good weather and go west. First to Ravenglass then Wastwater (my favourite) and then on to Ennerdale Water after lunch.

It was fairly cloudy at Wastwater and it was difficult to see the tops of the fells for very long. We had a picnic here by the lake and I liked this of the screes.

From Ennerdale we went on to Cockermouth which we really liked. Home via Bassenthwaite, Keswick (which included a brief stop at the Castlerigg Stone Circle), Thirlmere, Grasmere, Rydal, Ambleside, Windermere, Bowness, Newby Bridge and finally Grange. We collected fish and chips from our local chippy and had them for tea. Perfect.
