Bee orchid

I said in my journal yesterday that I was going to be looking for a needle in a haystack today. Well I am very pleased to say that it was much easier than I thought. As soon as I saw the terrain I knew I would find the Bee Orchids :) I haven't seen any since moving to Cumbria 6 years ago so was determined this year to find some :)

So where was I? I was at Clints Quarry which is nr Cleator and it took me a couple of attempts to actually find it and had to ask somebody in the end. What a super nature reserve this is, lots of wildflowers and other orchids, the common spotted, pyramid and of course the bee. It was bliss there, no other visitors, just me and Misty. There was a pond there and we sat by it for ages, Misty had a sleep and I watched the dragon flies and butterflies :)
