St Peter's, Preston Park
This Grade 2 listed medieval church no longer has a congregation but is looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust and is hired out for functions by the Friends of St Peter's. A few 13c wall paintings survive although most were ruined by a fire in 1906
I was exploring Preston Park after visiting an aunt who has a flat overlooking the park. In the park are 2 very old elm trees called the Preston Twins. They are widely considered to be the largest and oldest surviving elms in Europe. I was surprised when one of the trees called to me and I spied some girls in the tree but you will have to get rid of the caption to see them.
