Buses, Buses, Buses.
Open day at Stockwell Bus Garage, South London. Lots of vintage buses, from the early 1900's right up to date with the new-style Routemaster. Free rides over Vauxhall Bridge and back over Lambeth Bridge. The garage dates from the 1950's - it's quite church-like with the arches, vaults and buttresses. Built mainly from concrete due to a shortage of steel after the war, apparently, when it was built it was the largest unsupported area under one roof in the whole of Europe, with space for 200 buses. Its a Grade 2 listed building and still a working garage.
