Sadler's Wells is for dance. It rarely disappoints: tonight it really did. I closed my eyes after 20 minutes, opening them every so often to see if the dance was still as deadly dull. It was. Closing my eyes allowed me not to be distracted by the dance and concentrate on the music, which was wonderful. As a concert, this was as good as it gets. The musicians should ditch the dancers and book the QEH next time they’re in London.

I was unable to walk up Rosebery Avenue from Clerkenwell Road. It was blocked off by the police and the fire brigade. I had to make a detour around the Mount Pleasant Royal Mail depot. That’s when I snapped this.
