Centennial Pool

Another building about to disappear .......... and there has been a lot of controversy over this one.

I didn't go here a lot as it is the centre of the city and we had a pool much closer to home, but I did take B here for swimming lessons. This little pool was great as it was indoors, warm and shallow enough for kids to stand, and it definitely helped change B from being unsure of swimming to very confident and happy to dive underneath the water .............. and he was allowed to be one hour late for school on the mornings he went to his lessons :-)

It was badly damaged and is now being demolished to be replaced by The Margaret Mahy Family Playground ......... and the current costings for that are at least $20 million!!

The Plan looks impressive, but that's a lot of money for a playground!!
