No-go at Tyuleniy Island

Today's destination was the little known Tyuleniy Island off the south east coast of Sakhalin Island.
Unfortunately all we were able to do was sail right past due to the weather and sea conditions. So disappointing! We've had lectures to attend and for 3 of us there was a 'dry' run on the back deck, setting up our kayaks, the kayak pedals, learning about the dangers of our being on the back deck while the zodiacs are being loaded and unloaded. I'm glad that I've used the system for using our kayaks off the boat before – I could see that it was thought-provoking for the 2 newbies.

As warm as it was yesterday, it was 5° out there doing the dry run and our breaths were huffing! Payan said she froze; my hands certainly did. It'll be better when we're actually doing something.
