Up with the larks this morning in every sense of the phrase. By the time I took a cup of tea up to Gill before 8 am I'd already walked the dogs about five or six miles across the military ranges over towards Frimley. The red "keep out" flags were flying by the time I got back to the Jeep but they hadn't been hoisted when I set out. I love this spot because you could be anywhere and yet it's only 10 minutes drive from home. The skylarks were competing with the stonechats for the loudest chorus - heaven.
The damsel flies were mating like mad around the pond yesterday.
