Eas Fors Waterfall

Eas Fors Waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls on Mull. It is situated just off the B8073, a couple of miles North of Ulva Ferry, and there are captivating views across Loch Tuath to the island of Ulva.
The ‘Eas Fors Waterfall’ place name is tautological as all three words are synonymous. This often occurs when a name from one language is imported into another and a standard descriptor is added on from the second language. Eas is Gaelic for waterfall, Fors is Norse for waterfall, and waterfall is English for er..waterfall. You might think that calling it Eas Fors Waterfall is labouring the point somewhat, but there are actually three sections to it (upper, middle and lower falls) so 'waterfall, waterfall, waterfall' is in my opinion rather a good name.
This is the view over the edge of the lower falls which tumbles off the side of the cliffs for a 100ft drop onto the beach below. You are not supposed to lean over the edge. I did. Very irresponsible of me.
Popped into visit C & S at Treshnish shortly after visiting here on our way to Tobermory, and enjoyed their company and hospitality immensely.

Route today: 70 miles of cycling from Iona on the end of the Ross of Mull, to Tobermory in the north. Very hard going, but wouldn't miss it for anything.
